Texas CARES

Are there any updates to CARES?
Can I network the CARES videos?
There are white blotches on the screen while I'm running Texas CARES.

1. Are there any updates to CARES?

You can check here for any CARES updates and patches.

2. Can I network the CARES videos?

While Texas CARES is designed to run videos from a local CD-ROM drive, the videos are networkable. If you are using the first version of CARES Version 8, you must install the latest CARES patch for this feature to work. Instructions for networking the videos are included in the readme file, cares4010.txt, that accompanies the patch. If you are using the second version of CARES Version 8, the patch is already included, so no update is necessary.

3. There are white blotches on the screen while I'm running Texas CARES.

This is because of low computer memory. Texas CARES uses a lot of memory, so there is a delay in repainting the screen by the computer.
